I’ve spoken about online credibility recently and the importance of including ethics in your marketing. As an internet marketer you need to be chasing something else than The Almighty Dollar. Firstly you need to believe in the product you sell. If you only sell it for the commission then have a second look at the product. It’s obviously not very good (or good enough for you anyway). Passion sells. If you’re not passionate about the affiliate product, I don’t like your chances of selling it. Here are 5 Key Points to look for in an Affiliate Website.

1. Affordable. The website must be affordable. Spending $2,000 on a website is far to much and it’s going to set you back straight away. If you already have the framework for a website, you’re in front.
2. Simple to operate. You may not have the IT knowledge to do all the tech stuff for your site. In this case you need an affiliate site that is easy to operate. Many times, attaching a blog or simply using a blog with a static homepage is a good idea.
3. Earn Passive Income. If you drive traffic to your website, you want the ability to cash in on it. Make sure you have sufficient control over the affiliate product you sell. Control is the key. Plenty of people make affiliate sales worldwide. Sales are made with or without you and you might as well have a piece of the action.
4. Large Commissions. There must be large commissions. Making $24 a sale is rediculous. Unless you have 100,000 visitors a month and 1% make a purchase, you wont make a lot of cash. Typically, I wont go near anything that pays less than $500 commission per sale. That gives me plenty of scope for my advertising. Obviously, I can spend up to $500 per sale and draw even. Spend less and I have a profit.
5. Built in products. Have the ability to choose what you sell on your affiliate website from a range of quality products. Selling big ticket items is something the mainstream stay away from because they don’t realize they can do it. Think again!

Internet Marketing can be tricky. It’s important to have proper Online Sales Systems to work with. Proven systems are easy to copy. Just look at what someone else is doing successfully and copy it. After all, that’s exactly what they did. I have stacks of marketers go over my websites. I take it as a compliment and am happy to lead the way in the areas I market.
